Neo Daikaiju-VARAN

Varan was change from form the flying squirrel form to be more of a dragon like kaiju. With very different membrane.

Personality:He possesses a deep respect for freedom, his own and others that he protects as a guardian.

Story:
Million of years ago Earth first bared witness to the fury of a god-like force of nature. Thousands of tons of bone and muscle, trampled mountains into dust, forest into ash, and oceans into dry wastelands. When it returned the eight-headed hydra leveled nearly all life on Earth. The only reason it did not succeed, was because of a warrior of gods, Ikusagami, helped by the Amano Phoenix and destroyed the serpent, ending the demon's reign and each of its eight heads was severed.

However each head, carried life on its own. With the powers of Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, Thunder, Venom, Light and Shadow, they slithered into the far reaches of the world. The legend goes that each turned into its own deity and it’s said that the 8 monsters would fight each other, and the loser would willingly give his power to the victor, who would increase its power with this new strength, in order to rebirth Orochi.

In the 1958, an expedition team arrives in the area to find a Siberian species of butterfly that has mysteriously made its way to Japan, but are killed after they hear an echoing roar. The film company "20 Century Mysteries Solved" sought to gain recognition through bringing public awareness, and sent a small crew to make a documentary. Time later, a second team is sent to investigate, and discovered Varan, who then destroys the entire village once disturbed. A few days later, the JSDF arrives in the Kitagami area, and discovered the cause of the chaos: Varan.

They lured him out by polluting the lake where he is hiding and they light the forest on fire. Distraught with the destruction of his home, Varan takes off into the sky, and heads towards Tokyo bay. After a short fight with the tanks and battalions rolled into the town, the JSDF drops several powerful bombs out of the sky. The bombs explode one by one, hitting and weakening Varan. When Varan retreats to the sea, the final bomb explodes and apparently destroyed the beast.

Varan rose once more in 2004, along with Baragon and Manda, to battle a mighty foe: "Ghost Godzilla". The Guardian Monster Baragon had been ruthlessly defeated by Ghost Godzilla in the Owaku Valley in Hakone, and the beast was now on its way to Tokyo. The sun set over Lake Ikeda, and a monster spurt out of the water. Varan, the second Guardian Monster had risen again. He began to extend his membranous wings and moved them with a smooth motion as he prepared to take off into the sky, prepared to confront Ghost Godzilla.

Varan landed atop the Yokohama Landmark Tower, the nation's highest skyscraper, seeking the creature he was awoken to exterminate. Ghost Godzilla and Varan exchanged roars. The mystic monster speeds forward with the spikes on his long tail lowered, to stab Godzilla. The organic daggers hit and released a strong poison, which managed to cause actual damage. Ghost Godzilla countered with his heat ray, and Varan swiftly speeds up to escape the searing plasma, leading the beam straight to the Landmark Tower. Manda appeared on the scene, and Baragon reappeared, the three Guardian Monsters entered the fray. Varan managed to align himself silently behind Ghost Godzilla, but the blow of Ghost Godzilla's tail sent Varan flying away. Manda was knocked unconscious and after a shot struggle Ghost Godzilla annihilated Baragon for good. As Ghost Godzilla attempted to fire a final ray at Manda, Varan came to her defense and took the beam’s full force. With Baragon, and Varan defeated, the military fired on Ghost Godzilla. Unfortunately, the self-defense force did not last long against Ghost Godzilla. In his dying moments, Varan gave his energy to Manda, who emerged, unleashing Thunder Spark attacks at pointblank range and caused an open wound visible near his left shoulder. Yet Manda was not able to take Ghost Godzilla on her own and Godzilla unleashed a single blast, killing her.

Taizo Tachibana, a JSDF Admiral piloted the Satsuma into Godzilla's mouth, and from within the admiral fired a D-03 through a hole in Godzilla wound inside out. Every time Godzilla tried fire his atomic ray, it only enlarged the wound, and as the Satsuma escaped, Godzilla charged one final ray, disappearing from radar, he had fallen victim to his own power.

In death the once proud Guardians monsters, Baragon, Varan, and Manda had defeated Ghost Godzilla. However, all was not as it seemed, the Guardians monsters would live on in 2020...

The year 2020 came, Godzilla, and all of Earth's monsters, were confined to a remote island in the Ogasawara chain dubbed Monster Island. The sanctity of the island was breached, when an alien race called the Kilaakians descended, using mind control on the island's personnel and kaiju. With the monsters under their control, they were quickly dispatched across the globe to beat humanity into submission for the Kilaakians. Meanwhile Jyarumu another Guardians monster, with the power of darkness, awakened from suspended animation in Siberia and rampage against the world on its own.

However, the strike was unsuccessful as the mind control was severed, and the monsters gathered at Mt Fuji, while Jyarumu was still devastating North China, then the guardian monster known as Balkzardan use Quintessential power and imbue the remains of the other Guardian monster around the world with life. All the Guardian monsters revived and gathered and met Jyarumu in China. The dark creature knocked back the forces of Guardians monsters. In the end though, even all of his strength was not enough, and Jyarumu was killed. His chi was not able to split into seven and was cancelled, so Orochi would never rise again.

After the battle, Balkzardan went to Monster Island to fight the space demon Kaiser Ghidorah. who was overmatched, and was killed as the alien race was turned into ashes. With the Kilaaks vanquished, Balkzardan and the rest of Guardians monsters went on Monster Island to live the rest of their days in peace.
