Match 7: Mothra & Leo vs. Bagan

Mothra was an ancient Guardian goddess. A year ago she laid two eggs when she sensed changes in earth climate beginning as a result of human pollution. She believed these changes would awaken ancient enemies, and she would have to lay this egg to protect Earth if they should ever return… she was right

In ancient times, a fierce dragon known as Bagan stalked the country of China. A monster who was mutated when a blast of pure plasma from your sun crashed near in his nest.

The beast was referred to as a god, and protected the small inhabitants of the forest from which he dwelled. Many centiries ago, the monster roamed this land, destroying an ancient alien race far more advanced than today who dared to despoil his land much like humanity today. They kept building more powerful weapons to try and kill Bagan but in the end one back fired and destroyed them, along with a great portion of the land.

This sent Bagan into a bloodlust and he destroyed everything in his path before the protector of the earth, Mothra, engaged in a battle with him. Eventually, the god becomes sealed in large body of ice; however, it the return of the "primordial dragon" will occur when "evil rulers despoil the land".

Prophecy eventually becomes reality when global warming begins to ravage the earth in modern times.

Deep inside a cave on Monster Island light filters through the roof; shining on one of the island’s three inhabits. The colossal moths let out a screech. The young Mothra and Leo let out several chirps. Like angels rising above shameful creatures, they took to the skis, not before say farewell to their former guardians Zilla, Komodithrax and Rodan.

Months ago in the Himalayas, glaciers have melted as a result of global warming to reveal the top of what seems to be a large temple, closer study revealed that it is over millions of years old.

This could be a major discovery.

Through the dense foliage the explorers follow close after to the discovery of a life time. The entrance was roughly 100 feet in diameter. It resembled a giant Egyptian pyramid with a spike. Inside, a massive chamber existed, roughly 250 meters tall, 175 meters wide, 400 meters long.

Deep inside the temple, the tomb of the dreadful dragon, Bagan two yellow eyes opened. The massive creature was fastened to the wall by massive chains and ice had formed on his skin. He moved, the ice shattered and the chains followed.

Out of the burning rubble, a massive form emerged. His armored skin was white with the exception of the joints, spaces between his armored plates, claws, horns, and underside of his long tail which were black. His appearance was like a dinosaur, his head was thick, and had a short snout filled with razor sharp teeth, a curved horn adorned his forehead, and two smaller horns jutted from on top of its eyes. His hands had three clawed fingers, his feet had three forward pointing claws, his tail ends in a scythe-like blade, and he stood at least 85 meters tall.

A red ball of energy launches from the darkness and destroys the walls, an explosion blasts stone over the area. Two red eyes gleam in the tomb's dark opening.

The prehistoric creature sensed the changes in the world, the temperature was far hotter than before, but his thick skin helped dull it. Another race was now endangering the land he protected. In his mind humans were just mere insects that needed squashed!

Energy surged up from the spikes on his spine as a ball of red energy formed in his mouth. The ball shoots forward and slams into a building, blasting it to bits and killing all within.

His anger began to rise and he lets out an earth shattering roar. Bagan quickly calms himself, he’d have vengeance soon enough and last time he let his rage get the better of him, he destroyed much of the land he loves. His horns glow white and his massive plasma beam spouts forth, vaporizing the prison that had held him for so long.

Bagan scanned the area. His senses detect the pollution caused by the human race, this further angers the giant dragon… another race was damaging his territory. They would all die!

Bagan’s massive form waded through water as a human would through a pool. He stepped out of the smoke as people ran from the giant in vain; He sensed the capital of Singapore was not far away from Mothra and Leo who would face the wrath of the colossus.

The disaster prevention alarms kicked in, warning of the evacuation of the surrounding area. The notification came too late, though, as Bagan arrived on land and trampled through towns still populated by fleeing citizens.

Willing to run the risk of spilling radioactive material, the government granted the militayr force unrestricted weapon use in handling Bagan. Deploying ASDF F-2 fighters and attack helicopters, a large scale aerial war was planned. In addition, the River bank in Tokyo was lined with Type 10 Tanks.

The helicopters were the first to strike, engaging Bagan. Their assault involved shelling the nuclear menace with auto cannon fire, although the ammunition bounced harmlessly off of Bagan's thick hide. The Apache 30mm were utilized next, but were similarly ineffective. 16,000 rounds of machine gun fire were unloaded in all, but none had any effect. Furthermore, the creature was shrinking the 12,000 meter gap that separated it from the helicopters from when the attack started. Moving to a distance of 700 meters from their target, the fleet unleashed their missile payloads at Bagan's face. All of the missiles hit their target, but left no visible damage.

Bagan's resistance proved the military force to be ineffective, phase two began as the tanks near the River aimed at Bagan. The attack plan was changed, though, moving from assaulting the nuclear menace's face to focusing on his legs. Shelled with tank fire, Bagan started to slow his advance. Type 99 155mm Howitzers then proceeded to rain artillery fire on the monster's face again.

The Type 96 Multi-Purpose Missile System joined in the siege, as Bagan was shelled from multiple directions. Turning toward the river, Bagan approached the shore as the long range weaponry was fired at the monster. As Godzilla stopped his advance, phase three began, involving missiles dropped from the F-2 fighters. Despite the immense explosion, though, the mutated beast began to move again, destroying the river bridge.

Bagan prepared for retaliation, as he vomits a large  black and purple cloud of high density, high temperature smoke. This smoke ignites the smoke, unleashing a radioactive fire blast attack lighting up a large part of the city within seconds, causing immense amounts of destruction from the sheer force of the blast would give way to, which flow throughout the city around it. Released from the monster's mouth, the blast would be wide spread, causing explosive destruction everywhere in the direction used. Eventually this attack would turn into a concentrated plasma blast.

Bagan then unleashes another torrent of its concentrated, purple atomic breath, cleaving the city's skyline in half like butter, and vaporizes them and creates a path of destruction through the city. He then turns his attention toward the center of the city and fires his energy weapon upon it, leaving little behind but flaming ruins as he moves inland.

Young female Mothra and Leo were resting when they sense the destruction caused by the ancient dragon. They are quick towards Singapore, towards Bagan, ready to fight.

Bagan roared in anger. He sensed his ancient enemy. Entrapment had cost him many years of life and humiliation, so it would cost Mothra her life. His horns glow before his plasma beam fires from his maw and destroyed buildings, his face contorts into a wicked smile as he charged to the mountains.

Bagan continues his rampage of destruction. As he stops to let out a roar, two orange beams strike his back. His ancient rival had arrived to fight him and there will be a fight. But this time there are two of them; this is more than what Bagan can take.

Mothra’s wings flapped slowly as she stared into the yellow eyes of her ancestor’s rival. Bagan let out a snarl of anger and Leo replies with a screech. Bagan fires his plasma beam but Leo rolls out of the way.

He flies forward and slashes his wings into Bagan. Despite looking fragile, Leo’s wings end in a razor edge. Sparks fly from the impact but the attack barely breaks the skin. Mothra comes back around again and slashes into the same spot, this time red blood is drawn.

Bagan grimaces but doesn’t react otherwise. Mothra tries a second time but Bagan catches her and slams her to the ground. Bagan prepares to drive his claw into Mothra, Cross Heat Laser beams shoot from Leo’s antenna, causing Bagan to recoil and allowing Mothra to take to the skies again.

Bagan fires his plasma beam and follows Leo with it as he dodges, blasting buildings to bits. Mothra fires her antenna beams again, Bagan counters with his horn beam. The beams collide and the two giants fight back and forth. Bagan quickly turns around and slams the side of his scythe-like tail into Mothra, knocking her into a building but she rights herself and takes off.

Leo flies at Bagan again, Bagan tries to attack with his tail again but Leo catches it and drags the larger Bagan to the ground.

Mothra takes to the air again before raining down her antenna beams accompanied by Jade Bolts fire from Leo’s wings. Bagan’s horn beam catches Mothra in the chest, sending her falling to the ground. Bagan fires his plasma beam but Leo avoids it, the beam blasts a large crater in the earth. Mothra flies in once more and begins biting Bagan’s chest. Bagan strikes with his claws and both sides draw blood from each other.

Tired of the stalemate, Mothra fires her antenna beams, and Leo joins by firing his Mega Chest Cannon causing the dragon to stagger before retaliating with a plasma beam. Mothra prepares to dodge but notices something.

A mother and her child were in the beams path, if she dodged they would probably be hit. Leo sees this to releases his Reflective Green Powder from his wings and the bean send its owner flying into a building.

Bagan asked himself why Mothra and Leo defend the humans, when all they do is destroy the Earth. They, protects them because unlike him, they can forgive.

Bagan can’t so he wouldn’t understand.

Bagan brings up his tail and attempts to drive its blade into Mothra’s head, but Mothra flaps her wings and knocks him back. Leo makes it back into the air and slashes Bagan again, this time his wings cut deep and Bagan covers the wound with his claw.

Mothra comes back around but Bagan knocks into her with his tail. Mothra is sent grinding across the ground from the impact before taking back to the air. She opens fire with her beams as does Bagan. The beams collide and a massive explosion engulfs the battlefield.

Mothra and Bagan get to their feet at the same time.

Leo sees an opportunity and fires into Bagan’s wound, bring the titan to his knees from pain. Mothra senses victory, then she flaps her wings, causing hurricane force winds and knocks Bagan back into a tall building, Mothra blasts the base of the structure with her beams. The building topples onto Bagan burying the dragon.

Mothra lands at the entrance to the bay to rest for now. Bagan started to rise from to rubble

Leo lifts into the air and heads straight for Bagan. The dragon doesn’t notice him until he slams into the back of his head, knocking him to the ground. Bagan gets up and fires his horn beam. Leo rolls out of the way before firing Jade Bolts from his wings. Bagan blocks with the scythe-like blade on the end of his tail. He then slams it down and fires his plasma beam.

Leo and Bagan fire their beams at each other. They are thrown apart by the explosion. Bagan fires his horn beam again, this time it hits Leo and blasts him back and hit’s the ground hard.

Bagan fires his beams blindly at him but he avoids him. Bagan instead turns to concentrate on the humans running nearby. He tries to fire his plasma beam at them, but Leo wouldn’t let him and both months combine their forces to form a Sparkling Prye Road, a series of cascading shafts of blue energy that split the earth as bolts flicker across its wings, that pushed Bagan of his feet.

Mothra resumes battle and slams into Bagan’s leg, knocking him off his feet. As Bagan’s eyes open, he is greeted his teeth. Mothra starts pelting Bagan with antenna beams as the Leo continues to rain Cross Heat Laser beams from his forehead.

Bagan struggles hard to get free. His movements slow and eventually stop. Mothra stops her assault and both she and her brother approach their fallen foe. When they get close enough, Bagan’s eye snaps open and he knocks the divine moth away with his tail and rises to his feet. Mothra flies towards him but he fires his plasma beam. The searing beam slams into her right wing, burning a hole in its edge and launching the majestic monster back hundreds of feet.

Bagan reaches his fallen foe. Leo quickly flies into the sky and begins to flap his wings, unleashing a relentless barrage of Jade Bolts from his wings.

Bagan slammed his tail through several buildings. He fires his plasma beam across the city; causing massive explosions in anger for his foe still persist in fighting when defeat is inevitable.

Bagan prepared to fire his plasma beam but Mothra slams into him, knocking Bagan’s beam off into the sky. Bagan turns to face her. The two monsters roar threats at each other.

Bagan roars in anger before falling to all fours in agony.

After a few minutes of pummeling Singapore, Bagan thinks of his next path. He sense that Mothra and Leo are about to attack and they would pursue him.

The two moths slam into him with great force several times. Bagan gains the upper hand when he catches Mothat and and sends Mothra spiraling at the ground. Mothra catches herself and hovers above the ground. The two stare off at each, then Mothra points the tip of her abdomen at Bagan. It opens a storm of black quills shoot forth. Bagan recoils from surprise of the new attack. Mothra stops the attack and rockets forward, slamming into Bagan.

Bagan catches her and throws her into a building. She rights herself as the building collapses. Leo fires his laser beams, Bagan counters with his horn beam. An explosion knocks both back and levels a good portion of the city. Mothra slashes a gash in Bagan’s armor, Bagan slams his tail into her. Mothra rolls out of the way, causing Bagan to crash through another skyscraper.

Leo fires another barrage of Cross Heat Laser beams. Bagan ducks behind the remains of the building. Mothra’s stingers collapse the building. Bagan Fires a horn beam from behind the smoke and it slams into Mothra and sends her flying. Bagan jumps over and tries to squash Mothra beneath his feet. Leo defends her as he fires his wing bolts.

Bagan screams in pain and is sent back as Mothra takes to the skies.
Mothra flies at Bagan. Bagan whips his tail around and slams it into Mothra’s head crashing her to the ground. Bagan jumps into the air and stomps on Mothra several times.

Bagan closes in but Leo blast him in the back with his Sparkling PryeRoad. Bagan turns to see Leo fly high into the sky. Mothra latches onto Bagan’s chest. She drives the tip of her abdomen into his wound and fires her stingers. Bagan screams in agony as his insides are ravaged by the sharp projectiles.

Bagan plummets.

Leo prepares to deliver his most powerful attack, the Sun Strike Buster. He flies around in circles just above Bagan raining down powder in a circle, green energy runs down Leo’s wings and a large ring of it grows in the sky and then, from the center of the circle, a massive beam of emerald blistering energy bursts and slams into Bagan’s wound causing a massive explosion.

Mothra lands and looks for any sign of movement. Bagan staggers from the flames, blood pouring from his wound and mouth, his right arm falling limply to his side. Bagan slowly approaches Mothra. Bagan’s eyes begin to fade. He lets out one last roar that shatters every window left in the city. Bagan’s eyes closes and he falls to the ground.

Mothra and Leo let out a victorious screech. The dreaded dragon, Bagan lives no more.

Every human remaining in the city lets out a loud cheer. Mothra and Leo fly toward their home on Monster Island II.
