Design Changes

Basically her armor design is that of the old Evangelion Unit-01

Evangelion Unit-04 has a distinctive chest plate that resembles pectoral muscles, as opposed to the V-shaped chest plate seen on other Evangelions, and like all other Evangelions her pylons have a unique configuration, as well. The Unit-01’s distinctive helmet visually evokes the horn and frill of a ceratopsian dinosaur and also has the same frill.

As with the other Evas, Evangelion Unit-04's design has been modified for Rebirth. Her proportions are less humanlike and more exaggerated, and the pylons bigger. The color scheme has been altered, with red trim added to the helmet, chest, and waist, but no "pelvic boot" unlike other Evangelions.

Some spin-off materials have shown Kensuke Aida as Pilot of Unit-04, But inhere Rei with her recovered human soul and also since in here unit-04 had no soul upon arrival to Nerv as Eva-04 may not yet have a pilot assigned to it, so Rei will be her pilot.

Powers:
Can be equipped with several different types of long range weapons and hand to hand based weapons.
Can produce an A.T. Field that blocks attacks from getting near and can neutralize other A.T. Fields.
Goes berserk when she and/or her pilot are in danger, and can move without any external power source. Berserk is triggered by the maternal instincts of the souls that dwells in its core.

Weaknesses:
With out the power cable, she can only operate for five minutes.
