GODZILLA: THE SERIES
EPISODE 3. 19

DESTRUCTIVE NATURE

In the depth of the Black Forest in Germany a scientist was developing a bio-weapon that could insure humans triumph over mutants and monsters. But some thing had gone terrible wrong.

A typical normal day in New York. No monsters, no sightings of something unusual, no Major Hicks calling them on a monster hunt, just a really normal day. But life for H.E.A.T. was just a never-ending adventure. Over time the lab had grown into a home away from home.

On the couch was Nick crashed about an hour earlier and was now safely tucked. He had a habit of totally cocooning himself in his blanket till he was wrapped tighter than a mummy. But he wasn’t alone next to him resting safely was his pregnant wife Audrey. Falling asleep in each others arms, their child, their future, nestled safely between them.

Randy's energetic entrance woke Nick and Audrey from their dreams. The computer expert was waving a file and radiating excitement.

"I think we've got a job"-he explained-"Just got a call from the Washington. There've been sightings of some type of huge plant out in Germany, and it's apparently started attacking. This came over the fax."

Nick took the file from his friend, examining the data there. Included were photos of what had obviously been some kind of rose of other type of flower.

"Looks like a job"-Nick confirmed-"Did you tell them we'd take it?"

"I said we'd get back to them,"-replied Randy, grinning-"So? What do you say?"

Audrey smiled; she was feeling good enough to make some news-"I say we take it. That is how we make our living, isn't it?"

“For once I agree with her”-said Monique.

“I week without monster is to much ask isn’t it”-Mendel whined.

The rest of HEAT was in agreement, and the team began preparing for the trip to Germany.

"Have you ever BEEN in a The Black forest?"-Mendel asked-"Let me tell you, rain forests are not only a nice place, so much humidity."

Randy snorted at Mendel’s whinnying and responded-"but last I checked, monsoon season was not confined to Southern Asia.

A couple of days later, the HEAT Seeker was tying up at a small dock on the undeveloped side of Schleswig-Holstein. The day was gray and windy, with a shimmer of moisture in the air, but the rain hadn't started yet. As the boat was secured to the dock, Nick looked over the side of the ship and raised an eyebrow at the familiar figure waiting on the pier.

"Major Hicks?" Nick blinked

As HEAT disembarked from the ship, Major Hicks was there to meet them. Shaking Nick's hand, he explained-"The army are pretty much required to report mutations to you. Considering this thing's flight capabilities, the Army decided it would be a good idea to have some monster backup presence here in case things went sour. So, here you are."

“Here we all are”-Nick added

“We're just glad to have you here, Tatopoulos. So far, this thing hasn't attacked any people, just cars and stuff, but who knows how long that'll last. We've got this place set up with some computer equipment for you. Anything else you need, you just ask.”

“So where did this thing came from? Its just a regular mutation, right?”-Audrey asked

“Unfortunately no, it was engendered from the DNA of many other mutants as a replacement for Godzilla or something like that.”-Hicks replied

“Who create it?”-Nick asked as he narrowed his eyes.

The team went into a tent where they met Dr. Koji Takahashi.

“Something wrong, Dr Tatopoulos?”-Koji grumbled.

“First of all I think you’re crazy”-Nick snapped at Koji.

“Am’ I? We do not have the support of completing such a task as defeating the monsters that ravage our world. There is too much destruction for only HEAT has to deal with.”-retorted Koji as he stood.

“You sure you are talking to the right H.E.A.T.”-randy cockily asked

“The world has suffered financially greatly in the past three years. Attacks from Godzilla, and other monsters, specially the wretched battles that took place last year. You can not provide the support.”

“Then how in the hell can you call Godzilla’s actions attacks?”-Randy grumbled as he slammed his hand on the desk.

“Senseless destruction of a rampaging uncontrollable monster”-he growled.

“In a way he has point”-Mendel added

“Dude shut up if your not going to help”-Audrey growled after she jabbed Mendel.

“Well just let the world give you their opinion, as for me just made my self of some monster cell such as Godzilla’s”-Koji inquired.

“Godzilla cells? What the hell did you get the cells; you know they could form new weapons of mass destruction from those materials?”-Nick grew livid as he shot a glance at Koji.

“What I’m concerned about is getting this world back onto its economical feet. So I mixed the DNA of several monsters but, the first one was a mistake and got out of control, and she is running out there… and by the way… she is still changing so… better hurry”-he grinned.

“Put this idiot under arrest for illegal experimentation, make sure he never sees daylight for a while”-said Hicks he followed Nick outside the tent.

“So what do you suggest Nick”-ask the major

“We take that thing before it becomes stronger”-the scientist replied

“Time to call the big and company”-Randy said

“I get to it”-said Mendel

“Here we go, it clovering to for Godzilla!”-said Nigel as he called Godzilla.

Mendel simply said-“I’m not going to yell, as long as Nigel doesn’t get busted, this time I will not complain of his voice”

The forest was dead quiet, nothing stirred, not even a leaf in the tree canopy. As the company paced deeper into the woods, a cold shiver rose up their backs and it felt as if their skin was tingling with insects. The deeper and deeper they walked, they soon discovered various objects floating in mid-air… spores, poisonous ones at that. The forest grew dense and dark, all of the daylight that once was dominant among the sky, was diminishing as if night was setting in.

General Langley was the head of the monster extermination mission in this particular part of the world. But he didn’t seem to take much care in what could happen to Godzilla and the Mutant Brotherhood if they got in the way.

Nick approached-“General gives a 2 mille perimeter and allow us to enter with Godzilla as back up”

“Forget it worm guy, this is a military operation, just keep your pet out and maybe he will get to live”-he general said turning to him.

“General that thing’s capabilities are unknown, so maybe the arsenal that you may throw at it will just be wasted, just listen…”-but Nick was interrupted.

“Maybe I’m not being clear, so let put easy for you and the pack of nerds behind you, I’m the Quarter-back, and you are in my team, Got It!... but I guess you never play Football in collage did you Tatopoulos?”

“No I didn’t, I stay in and studied like a good little nerd… and over 15 year later, I’m one of the greatest scientists of the early Twenty First Century”-Nick replied.

“So?”-Langley asked back

“Oh yeah, I happen to be married to the hottest news reporter in the USA, I have some of the best friends you can possible even imagined, my “adopted son” is one of the most power creatures ever to walk the planet, and still very loyal to me”-Nick then walked up to the general irradiating an aura of power-“and the big jock who played Quarter-back in collage is standing right here in front of me… I say that if he messes up, and bet he will, he will not get any assistance from me or Godzilla what so ever.”

Intimidated Langley called-“Alright… give what he wants”-and he walked back

Nick smiled at this; He protects his own, fights to defend their character. Being his enemy will be most difficult.

“I’m so hot for you right now”-Audrey whispered to net him

“Me to!”-Randy said hugging his boss.

Nick simply smiled and called-“Alright, let’s hit!”

In the mountains a creature laid resting, it looked like a bulky deformed rose. The unwanted organism arrived during the darkest hours of the night. Its hunger urged it to consume the local creatures. Nothing was spared from its insatiable appetite.

Godzilla, Komi, Long and Raydon approached from deferent directions to assault the beast, when this one, lifted its flower like structure and from its twisted rose on top it sprouted an ugly head with lateral jaw that pronounced for  its left side. A twin forked tail, appear n its back base, jagged spines, burst in from its back.

The whip like-tongue whipped out a grab Raydon, and pulled it to its maw. Bio-monster’s mammoth jaws widened, exerting a chaotic cry. Layers of emerald drool leaked from its elongated snout. Using her long, muscular tentacles lingered out of upper body, the creature put Raydon in her mouth and to everyone’s horror, swallow him full..

“Noooo”-Nick screamed

The beast began to increase its size.

As the tentacles swayed back and forth, several underwent a transformation creating mandibles bulged out of the tentacle tip.

Godzilla watched on as a chorus of shrieks emanated from the beastly tentacles. He widened his jaws, emitting a thunderous roar.

Thorny tendrils slithered out of the ground, instructed to seize Long. Godzilla perceived Bio-monster’s actions and utilized its superior maneuverability. Like an insect avoiding a fly swatter, Godzilla outmaneuvered the thorny tendrils and retaliated. An atomic beam of pure hatred projected out of Godzilla’s mouth, quickly shredding the tentacles.

As the burning blood of the tendrils scalded the forest, Komi moved to strike their controller. Bio-monster howled in contempt, stopping her advance. But Komi defied Bio-monster by sending her atomic breath attack straight into her belly.

“Yeeha, way to got Bridezilla”-Randy yelled

Bio-monster wailed in pain. Godzilla screeched in frustration, the failure of their attacks fail to avenge Raydon.

But Bio-monster yearned for their oblivion. The tendrils harpooned their sharp edges into the Long’s flesh. It easily punctured the meaty exterior, forcing his blood to escape. With it’s even bigger size, Bio-monster, pulled Long inside his throat and into her stomach.

But Godzilla was persistent killing that abomination. He fought the pain of loss and lashed around cutting her tendrils, only to see them regenerate, unleashing his vile atomic blast. But Godzilla’s tools of destruction were useless.

Her tentacles, each possessing a mandible of their own, cautiously hid among the foliage. Bio-monster waited patiently for her foes. And not long, Komi charged forward and was pulled in, granting her the chance to clamp her talons down upon Bio-monster’s jaws… but soon she mate the same fate, as her fallen friends.

Godzilla’s talons clenched to Bio-monster’s outer tusks, avoiding her mouth. She tried to shake the Godzilla loose by wobbling her head, but the reptile king could not be deterred. As a result, she summoned her tentacles. The tentacles slashed the air, hurtling their mandibles into Godzilla’s flesh. Immediately Bio-monster’s attacking vines, widened her maw, pledging her desire to swallow Godzilla whole. And unfortunately he was not able to avoid the horrible fate.

Victorious, Bio-monster unraveled her vines, leaving the forest and advancing, to the civilization.

“Retreat, retreat”-yelled Hicks.

The Bio-monster, now four times bigger than before, began rampaging through the forest, and crashed most of the military, before it disappears in the hills.

“Nigel!”-yelled Mendel when.

“Tell mom… I-I-I… I love her”-those were Nigel’s last word… for now.

As the sun sets, everyone seems to have reunited and in militarily base. Meanwhile, Nick is trying to analyze what just happen, but he is not speaking to anyone.

“Nick must be in pain”-said Elsie to Mendel as soon as everyone calmed down from escaping the rampaging Bio-monster

Back at the military headquarters, Langley comes up with a plan. To him the only way to defeat the Bio-monster is to destroy it.

“It's the only way that might be possible. Dropping all heavy artillery and explosive charges in the central portion, we concentrate enough explosive energy to blast that thing to kingdom come”-said Langley

”Hell, this is no rescue operation”-Nick growled as he come to his senses

“In this operation, the destruction of the monster has the number one priority over all else. We do not care if your monsters are destroyed. Fact, if that happens better”-Langley said to Nick

“Wait a second!”-Elsie snapped.

“I’m sorry but face the fact your monster are dead”-Nick simply humph and leave, followed by Audrey and later his team.

Major Hicks approached Nick

“Major how can you let them do this? Without Godzilla, there is no guarantee to stop any incoming monsters.”-Nick asked

“I’m sorry Nick but this their jurisdiction, I’m sorry to say it but Godzilla was eaten by that thing, he is as good as dead”-the major sadly said.

Nick walked away quietly o his tent not allowing anybody to enter.

Almost dawn and the operation is about to begin…

The creature advances slowly at the nearest city while it being evacuated, on the outskirts of the surroundings hills, all the military is in position and a huge swarm of aircraft prepares for the drop.

Nick watches in pain, he will be witness of the death of his most trusted friend, Godzilla, that if he is still alive.

With only 60 seconds left, the plan is just about to go into action when on the ground shakes.

Moments later, the body of Bio-monster is pierced from the inside, with red blood gushing in every direction, and the bloody fingers appears from the interior.

“What is going on?”-asked Nick as he saw the clawed hand popping out.

“I don’t know the operation hasn’t stared yet, and that hand can not be Godzilla’s, he is dead by now”-said Mendel

But to everyone's utter horror, a blood-covered Berserker Godzilla emerges from the wound, and unleashed blood-curdling roar. Despite having its life force almost totally drained, he savagely tore its way out of Bio-monster body.

“My god…”-Nick whispered.

“That thing lives just around the corner of our home”-Mendel said as he hide behind Elsie.

Those who were watching Godzilla rebirth of this way lost their lunch. Only Nick and Hicks were able to hold their stomachs.

Bio-monster, tries to kill Godzilla with its harpoon like-tendrils, but Godzilla charges his atomic breath, releasing a single fireball shattering the body of the fiendish beast on the ground in horrific hail of blood, sending the limp bodies of his friends to the blood covered ground. Soon the sun rises, to reveal the world the event, a twisted parody of birth.

Nick, Hick, Langley, and Heat are there to witness the shocking event.

Godzilla stands in admits of the remains of his enemy, all covered in blood, standing tall, with his eyes and spines, glowing in red fury and his claws flexed. A roar and Godzilla passed out.

After a whole day Godzilla, recovers is presented with some fish for him to recover his strength, and so did his friends. Nick can not keep his eyes of Godzilla.

“I have never felt that Godzilla has been more horrible than today. Is he truly on our side? Think he may hate us”-Elsie asked him

“I don’t know”-said Nick.

“If Godzilla and the others monsters knew their origins, they will never forgive us...”-she said

“Good thing is they don't understand”-Nick replied

Godzilla and his monster family weakly treaded in the direction to the ocean. Making it to the ocean would sap Godzilla all of his strength, leaving the King of the Monsters with no choice at all, but to go to his shelter and rest for few days and rise to defend the Earth once more.

Godzilla disappeared beneath the watery surface, followed by his monster family and HEAT.
This chapter is a tribute to Godzilla vs. Biollante, for its example of sheer brutality and visible blood, which made that one of the best Godzilla movies. But the death of Bio-monster is a tribute to the death of Liliel, the Angel of night from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

The scientist that created the Bio-monster, Koji Takahashi was named after the actor to played the creator of Biollante, Doctor Genichiro Shiragami. Also the scene were Nick confronts General Langley is form “Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer” were Reed confronts General Hager, which was always intended to be in this chapter since the development of the idea.
